
Christian Moreno is a versatile and in-demand percussionist specializing in orchestral and theatrical music. As a freelance artist, he has played with the Chicago Philharmonic, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Composers Orchestra, Marriott Theatre, Timberlake Playhouse, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, Metropolis and Porchlight Theatre, to name a few. In 2022, he was invited to perform the keyboard III book on the national broadway tour of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, playing in over 65 cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Additionally, he has worked heavily with jobbing bands the Bluewater Kings, Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters, Rhythmique, and has backed numerous solo artists, bands and ensembles, both on stage and in the recording studio. He is currently serving as a section percussionist with Symphony 847.

Christian teaches frequently as a guest percussion & piano instructor at the Peoples' Music School, while also maintaining his own studio. He has previously held positions with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras & Sistema Ravinia, among many others.
Christian is a graduate of the DePaul University School of Music, where he primarily studied with Ian Ding and Michael Kozakis. While attending, he participated in masterclasses with both Cynthia Yeh and David Herbert of the Chicago Symphony. Other teachers include Tom Hipskind, Bob Rummage, Rich Trelease and Dennis Carroll.
